Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats Share New Album ‘South Of Here’
The Colorado group’s latest record follows their 2021 release ‘The Future.’
Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats have shared a new album, South Of Here. The latest soul-powered record from the Colorado group follows their 2021 release The Future, and Rateliff’s 2020 solo LP, Following And It’s Still Alright.
Produced by trusted Bon Iver and Waxahatchee collaborator Brad Cook, South Of Here reflects Rateliff & The Night Sweats close collaboration fostered while recording outside of El Paso, Texas. Rounding out The Night Sweats are: Luke Mossman on guitar, Joseph Pope III on bass, Mark Shusterman on piano and Hammond B3 organ, Patrick Meese on drums and piano, Daniel Hardaway on trumpet, Jeff Dazey on tenor sax, and Andreas Wild on baritone sax.

“This album is a look into my own struggle with anxiety, insecurity and also stories of my life,” Rateliff shares of South Of Here. “Brad Cook was a great producer to write alongside and although I wrote all of the songs on the record, he was helpful in making the songs about my story and my perspective. If you’re not using the word ‘I’ you’re not taking responsibility for what’s happening in the song or what has happened that you’re writing about.”
In the fall, Rateliff & The Night Sweats will join My Morning Jacket on a co-headlining North American tour. The “Eye To Eye Tour” kicks off September 10 with a date at Wilmington, NC’s Live Oak Bank Pavilion at Riverfront Park. Each show will see the two groups playing equal-length sets, but trading performance order. Climate-focused non-profit REVERB is also partnering on the “Eye To Eye Tour” dates to reduce its environmental footprint, offering a sustainability program and Action Village for fans at each tour stop.
