Morat Recruit James TW For New Single ‘Someone I Used To Know’
The band also recently announced its 2024 U.S. tour.
Morat have released the bilingual version of “Someone I Used To Know,” a wistful, confessional collaboration with hit British songsmith James TW.
“Someone I Used To Know” follows the recent release of singles like “Nunca Volvieron” and “Feo.” The band has always had the dream of singing a song in English, but at the same time, they were plagued by their dedication to singing in Spanish. James TW ended up checking out the band’s show in Madrid, and they collaborated on the track. Check it out below.
“It was not only a beautiful musical moment, but it was also a moment of friendship,” says Morat. “That’s why the video is more than the story of the song, it’s the story around a song; our story with James, getting to know and walking around his city, having a good time, drinking beer. In the end, there is more to our first song in English than just the song: a friend.”
Earlier this month, the band announced that they will be embarking on a tour throughout the U.S. early in 2024 to promote their latest album, Si Ayer Fuera Hoy.
Produced by Live Nation, the 16-city tour kicks off on Wednesday, January 24 at Rosemont Theater in Rosemont, Illinois, making stops across the U.S. in New York, Miami, San Antonio, and more before wrapping up in Los Angeles, California at YouTube Theater on Sunday, February 25.
Debuting with their album Sobre El Amor Y Sus Efectos Secundarios in 2016, Morat garnered instant recognition, getting a Latin Grammy nod for Best New Artist and another nomination for the 2019 album Balas Perdidas. Composed of Juan Pablo Villamil, Juan Pablo Isaza, Simón Vargas, and Martín Vargas, the band currently has more than 15 million monthly listeners on Spotify, and their videos have been viewed more than 5.5 billion times on YouTube.
