Watch Migos’ Video For New Single, ‘Racks 2 Skinny’
The track marks the band’s third single off their anticipated new album, “Culture III”.
Migos just dropped a new single, ‘Racks 2 Skinny’ – their second in the last two weeks. The track follows ‘Taco Tuesday’, released 5 May, along with an animated lyric video, and ‘Give No Fxk’, in February. All three singles offer a taste of the hip-hop trio’s fourth studio album, Culture III.
The highly-anticipated new album from Migos, which was delayed in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, follows their star-studded third LP, Culture II, released in January 2018. The 24-track double album debuted at No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100 and featured appearances by Ty Dolla $ign, Gucci Mane, Big Sean, Travis Scott, Cardi B, Nikki Minaj, Drake, Post Malone, and many more. Listed among the best albums of 2018 by People, Clash and Complex, Culture II featured such Top Ten hits as ‘MotorSport’, ‘Stir Fry’ and ‘Walk It Talk It’.
In between albums, all three members of Migos – Quavo, Takeoff and Offset – have found success with solo projects. In October 2018, Quavo released his debut Quavo Huncho, featuring appearances by Takeoff and Offset as well as Drake, Madonna, Travis Scott, Cardi B and Kid Cudi, among others. The album topped the US R&B/Hip-Hop albums chart and peaked at No.2 on the Billboard 200. Quavo was also featured on Justin Bieber’s chart-topping single, ‘Intentions’, off 2020’s Changes.
Offset, meanwhile, released his solo debut, Father Of 4 in 2019. The album, which debuted at No.4 on the Billboard 200 was widely acclaimed by critics, including the NME, who praised it as, “A fine body of work that builds a convincing case that Offset is currently best-placed to be Migos’ break-out solo star.”
Takeoff’s solo debut, October 2018’s The Last Rocket, was also warmly received by a variety of outlets, including XXL, who wrote, “Takeoff’s nimble flow and dextrous wordplay is a treat. From a pure rapping perspective, Takeoff is establishing himself as Migos’ most dangerous weapon.” Pitchfork also gave the album high marks, declaring Takeoff to be, “The trio’s best rapper.”
Most recently, Quavo teased that the trio was working on a quarantine mixtape for their fans, as they await the new album.
