Marilyn Manson Announces UK And European Tour For Winter 2017
Marilyn Manson has announced a major European tour for the winter of 2017. The tour which begins in Sweden on 14 November, also includes five shows in the UK during December 2017.
Manson’s tour kicks off at the Annexet in Stockholm, Sweden, on 14 November and takes in shows in Denmark, Germany, the Czech Republic and Austria before heading to the UK on 4 December. The British leg of Manson’s tour begins at Manchester 02 Apollo on 4 December and then touches down at Glasgow 02 Academy (5 December), Wolverhampton Civic Hall (6 December) and Newport Centre (8 December) before culminating with a show at London’s SSE Arena Wembley on 9 December. Tickets for the UK shows are due to go on sale at 10am on Friday, 19 May.
The tour dates have been announced just days after Manson revealed he had completed work on his new album, Heaven Upside Down. The follow-up to 2015’s The Pale Emperor was initially due to be called Say10 and had been expected to launch on 14 February 2017, yet this date passed without news. Manson has since been active on his Instagram page, posting a series of short, mysterious videos.
Speaking about the new material during 2016, Manson said: “It’s not very much in any way like The Pale Emperor. It is, I would say, the last thing people would expect after hearing that album. The people who have head the new songs said it reminded them of Antichrist Superstar and Mechanical Animals – but with a new, different approach. It’s pretty violent in its nature for some reason. I can’t wait for people to hear it – I think they’re going to be quite surprised.”
Further album details are expected to be released in due course. It has, however, now been confirmed that the new record will be released later in 2017 via Loma Vista Recordings and Caroline International.
