Childhood Home Of Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Van Zant Brothers Now On Airbnb
The home has three bedrooms, four beds and sleeps up to six guests, and stays begin at $274 per night.
Fans of Lynyrd Skynyrd can now “live the music” in a new sense. The childhood home of their late co-founder and vocalist Ronnie Van Zant and his brothers in Jacksonville, FL, is now available to rent on Airbnb.
“The Van Zant House” is listed as an official heritage site. A plaque outside the property notes that the Van Zant brothers, also including current Lynyrd Skynyrd singer Johnny and former 38 Special writer-guitarist Donnie “spent their formative years growing up in this house with their sisters and parents between the 1950s and 1980s.”
The home has three bedrooms, four beds and sleeps up to six guests, and stays begin at $274 per night. The Airbnb listing notes: “Inside this main house, you’ll find some cool memorabilia, a vintage 1938 Brunswick pool table, and a retro 70’s feel, to remind us all of the way things were, with a hint of nostalgia.
“Please understand that we have restored and continue to restore this home to what it looked like in the 1970s (with a few minor nods to technology, like wifi). If you have an expectation of a perfect modern home, this is probably not a good fit for you.
“Fans of Lynyrd Skynyrd tell us they get goose bumps visiting this home,” the listing continues. “If you’re not a fan of the band, or are coming for some other reason, please understand that this property is not totally modern and may have a few quirks typical of a 70+ year old property.”
The modern-day band line-up returns to live action on April 9 at Arizona Bike Week in Scottsdale, AZ, with further dates currently booked in May, June, and September 2022. Lynyrd Skynyrd’s Live At Knebworth ’76, featuring one of their most storied performances, is out now in multiple formats.
