Rappcats
Described “the West Coast hip-hop haven,” by Vinyl Factory, Rappcats will play host to producer Joel Stones’ (a world-renowned Brazilian vinyl collector) now defunct NYC record store Tropicalia in Furs, for a two-day popup shop for Record Store Day Weekend.
The event celebrates all things Brazilian vinyl culture and offers a curated selection of original Brazilian funk, jazz, soul, samba, psych, and obscure sounds from the 60s and 70s. A true collectors paradise, it’s a rare opportunity to snap up vinyl from the likes of Azymuth, Marcos Valle, Os Mutantes, Milton Nascimento, Tim Maia, Zito Righi and more.
This year’s pop-up also includes exotic 45s from all over the words, with Stones bringing along thousands of French, Turkish, Japanese, Cuban, African and American titles.
