Listen To Jordan Davis And Julia Michaels’ ‘Cool Anymore’ Collaboration
MCA Nashville artist Jordan Davis has released his new collaboration with the
Grammy-nominated Julia Michaels, ‘Cool Anymore.’ The track, which the pair wrote with Nicolle Galyon, Ross Copperman and Emily Weisband, also has a new video directed by Eric Ryan Anderson. He also shot Davis’ videos for his major country hits ‘Singles You Up,’ in 2017, and last year’s ‘Take It From Me.’ Both were certified platinum by the RIAA, the first hitting No. 1 on the country airplay chart and the second No. 2.
“‘Cool Anymore’ is a song about not taking things too seriously,” says Jordan. “We spend a lot of time playing shows and it’s easy to get caught up in it but this song is just a reminder leave work at work. It’s a job, enjoy it. Go out do the music thing and then come back and be a husband and a friend.”
Michaels adds of the song: “It’s just a fun chill vibe that has a nice little groove to it and makes you smile and feel good. We’re lucky to be able to go home and let loose with the ones we love.” The singer released her first major label album on Republic Records in 2017 and is perhaps best known to a country audience via her feature spot on Keith Urban’s ‘Coming Home,’ a No. 3 airplay hit. But she has also written 22 tracks that have made the Billboard Hot 100, with credits for Rita Ora, Selena Gomez, Gwen Stefani, Britney Spears and countless others. Her own ‘Issues’ was a No. 11 Hot 100 hit.
Davis released his debut MCA Nashville album Home State in March 2018 and saw it rise to gold certification, and one billion streams worldwide. Its most recent single ‘Slow Dance In A Parking Lot’ has been steadily climbing the country charts for months, now standing at No. 25 on the airplay countdown in its 28th week.
He’s also announced his Trouble Town Tour, to begin in Milwaukee, WI on 10 January. It features 20 further dates including shows in New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Denver. Rising names Kassi Ashton and Hailey Whitters will feature on select dates.
