Lil Wayne is giving fans what they want. Today, the “Lollipop” rapper has released an instrumental version of “She Will,” his 2011 hit that has recently gained serious traction on TikTok. A viral dance trend, which sees TikTokkers usually shaking their legs up against some kind of wall, brought the original 2011 track to the top of the TikTok Billboard Top 50 back in February. The audio begins with a voiceover “Ladies and gentlemen, Drizzy” before cutting to the T-Minus produced instrumental. With the new instrumental release, Wayne’s made it even easier for fans to dance.

Originally released in 2011, “She Will” is a collaboration between Wayne and Drake that quickly became one of the biggest hits of Weezy’s career. The track debuted at number 3 on the Billboard Hot 100, making it the second-highest charting song of Wayne’s career. Though the song was originally created for Drake and was expected to feature a verse from Rick Ross, it’s since become a staple of Wayne’s catalogue. “Wayne heard the mix that 40 did he was just like, ‘Wow, I’ve got to use this for my album,’” T-Minus told Complex in 2011. It was a good call—the song remains popular nearly 14 years after its initial release.

Wayne is gearing up for the release of Tha Carter VI this June, which the rapper first announced around the same time that “She Will” was topping TikTok charts. Partnering with Cetaphil for a Super Bowl ad, Wayne confirmed the album’s release date of June 6. The spot also poked some light fun at the controversy surrounding the halftime show headlining spot, which Wayne admitted he hoped to land as the show was in his hometown of New Orleans. Even so, Tha Carter VI is a massive achievement, and the first full-length album Wayne has released since 2020’s Funeral. “I was put here for a reason,” Wayne said while announcing the album in early April. “It might be hard to outdo myself, but it ain’t hard to do myself so that’s what I do.”
