Lil Baby Recruits Megan Thee Stallion For ‘On Me’ Remix And Video
The two rappers star in a fire-and-ice visual.
Lil Baby teamed up with Megan Thee Stallion for a new remix version of “On Me,” off his No.1 album, My Turn. Meg also turns up in the new Mike Ho-directed video, which made its broadcast premiere on MTV Live, MTVU, BET Hip Hop & BET Jams.
In the striking visual, the two performers appear in opposing landscapes, with Lil Baby standing atop icy glaciers while Meg heats things up on top of a volanco.
In only 5 months “On Me” has become RIAA certified platinum and is currently a Top Five US streaming hip-hop song. In this year alone, the track has amassed over 400M global streams and hit No.1 at Urban Radio (and currently building in the top 10 at Rhythm Radio). Lil Baby’s album My Turn also became the highest selling and highest streaming album in the US with 25 billion streams.
Last month Lil Baby turned in an unforgettable moment at the 2021 Grammys with a powerful performance of his track “The Bigger Picture.” The New York Times declared, “Lil Baby’s performance managed to invoke the despair and anger of that moment without it feeling co-opted by the institutions that were playing host,” while Time Magazine stated, “Lil Baby literally took to the streets in a searing performance of his Black Lives Matter anthem “The Bigger Picture,” his voice gasping and straining poignantly over his rapid-fire syllables about injustice and reform, while Tamika Mallory and Killer Mike offered eloquent support.”
Earlier in March, Lil Baby offered his first release of 2021, teaming up with Louisville artist EST Gee for “Real As It Gets.” The track came alongside a visual directed by Caleb Jermale. The track’s music video showed the Atlanta rapper in his natural form, hanging with friends and showing off his chains under flashing lights.
A multi-platinum selling artist, Lil Baby used “Real As It Gets” to recall how he’s stayed grounded even while in the spotlight. Lil Baby was also recently included on Time Magazine’s 2021 Time 100 Next list which highlights “emerging leaders who are shaping the future.”
Lil Baby’s “On Me (featuring Megan Thee Stallion)” is out now.
