KISS Celebrate 50 Years Of ‘Strutter’ With Playable Gold Records
Each limited edition disc is created in Bavaria, Germany using Precious Sound’s patented process.

KISS are celebrating the golden anniversary of “Strutter” in appropriate fashion. Fifty years after its original release, the beloved track from the band’s classic self-titled debut album will be pressed on limited edition playable gold records created in Bavaria, Germany by Precious Sound.
Precious Sound, inventor of the playable gold record, uses a patented process involving 11 people and 304 steps to complete every disc. Each one is protected by nano-coating.
The “Strutter” collection includes two kinds of playable gold records, a pure gold version and a gold-plated version. The pure gold edition is 5-inch solid gold record made of 8 ounces of .999 (24-karat) pure gold. This version will be limited to five records worldwide, each one made to order. Each disc’s A-side will have a special rim engraving with the record’s unique edition number engraved in gold and a KISS logo made of Swarovski crystals, while the B-sides will be engraved with the original Casablanca Records 7-inch single label.
The gold records come packaged in a premium 12-inch x 12-inch x 4-3/8-inch coffee table display case wrapped in imitation leather with gold foil details and a gold-plated KISS logo with Swarovski crystals. The case contains two drawers: one to house the record in a protective sapphire crystal glass capsule, the other to hold a book signed by Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley. The gold-detailed pen used to sign each book will be included in the package along with other accessories such as a laser-engraved metal certificate of authenticity, a cork record mat, and a microfiber cleaning cloth.
The gold-plated “Strutter” single is a limited edition of 500 worldwide and is ready to ship now. It’s pressed on 5-inch Gold-plated copper-core records with .999 pure gold. Like the pure gold records, the gold-plated discs are packaged in a custom case, this one measuring 7-1/2-inch x 7-1/4-inch x 2-3/8-inch. The case has two compartments. One is a gold-plated record holder for display behind a crystal glass window. The other contains the booklet, a silicon record mat, a micro-fiber cleaning cloth, and a uniquely numbered certificate of authenticity.
The A-side of the gold-plated edition is playable on any manual record player, while the B-side is engraved with the original Casablanca Records 7-inch single label. The gold-plated edition is limited to two copies per customer.
