Watch Kip Moore And His Band’s Record Store Day Set At Grimey’s
The set is available to watch on Moore’s YouTube and Facebook platforms, and was broadcast by independent record stores across the US.
Country/roots-rock star Kip Moore is streaming his performance with his band for Record Store Day yesterday (24) at the much-loved Nashville record store Grimey’s. The set is available to watch on Moore’s YouTube and Facebook platforms, and was broadcast by independent record stores across the US.
Kip Moore: Live At Grimey’s Nashville featured versions of songs from his fourth studio album Wild World, which came out in late May and made the Top 40 of the all-genre Billboard 200. It was also a Top 5 success in Australia.
He and his band played “Janie Blu,” “Sweet Virginia,” “Wild World,” and “Fire & Flame.” The latter track, described on Moore’s website as “a blowtorch anthem that pours gasoline on the quest for greater meaning,” made its debut just ahead of the album release with a world premiere on BBC Radio 2.
The in-store event in Nashville was part of Record Store Day’s campaign to raise awareness and celebrate the vital role played by locally-owned record stores both in the US and around the world.
“Hand-picking out vinyls for your collection”
“There is nothing like that feeling of going to your local record store and hand-picking out vinyls for your collection,” said Moore before the performance. “It’s really important that we preserve the local independent record stores in our communities and Record Store Day is a really great way to help continue to raise awareness, even more so during these times. Grimey’s is a Nashville staple and to get to perform some songs from the new record there is something I’m looking forward to sharing.”
Grimey’s, situated in Nashville’s East Trinity Lane, describes itself as “an analog store saving music in a digital world since 1999.” It offers new & preloved vinyl, CDs, cassettes, DVDs, books, mags, turntables, “and other tangible artifacts.”
