Watch The Official Music Video For KEM’s ‘Live Out Your Love’
The track appears on KEM’s latest album ‘Love Always Wins’ available now.
R&B star KEM has released the official music video for his latest single “Live Out Your Love” from his latest album Love Always Wins released in August 2020 via Motown.
The visual directed by Gerald Plaid Isaac tells a five-minute-long story about a couple showering each other in affection in the most high-romance way possible. They step into a lavish corridor with flower petals scattered across the floor leading into a ballroom where a proposal takes place.
After the leading woman says yes, she and her now fiancé dance throughout the ballroom to the sound of KEM’s solo rendition of “Live Out Your Love.”
Speaking of “Live Out Your Love” with Rated R&B, KEM said: “This record, in particular, I think some of that Marvin Gaye music was inspirational for sure. It’s got a Marvin-esque vibe to it and I’m doing some of the classic Marvin licks just to pay homage, not to try to emulate but just pay respect to that genre and legacy.”
The R&B crooner also recorded a version of the song that features the soulful singer Toni Braxton. Their duet reached No. 1 on the Billboard Adult R&B Songs airplay chart and was nominated for Outstanding Duo, Group or Collaboration (Traditional) at the NAACP Image Awards.
“Live Out Your Love” was featured in KEM’s recent campaign with Pepsi, Full of Detroit Soul, which pays homage to soul musicians in Detroit.
Love Always Wins arrived as KEM’s first album in six years and shows the singer at his most personal, notably having been married in the period between this album and his prior project. The project, which debuted in the top 20 of Billboard’s Top R&B Albums chart, features contributions from Erica Campbell, Anthony Hamilton, Brian Culbertson, James Poyser and Salaam Remi.
KEM produced Love Always Wins with Derek “DOA” Allen.
