Youtube Announces New Docuseries ‘Justin Bieber: Seasons’ Chronicling His New Album
Justin Bieber chronicles the road to his first album in four years with new Youtube Originals docuseries ‘Seasons’ that will premiere 27 January.
Justin Bieber shared the first trailer for the forthcoming YouTube Originals docuseries, Seasons, set to premiere on 27 January at 12 pm ET/9 am PT. The new series will span 10 episodes, with instalments premiering every Monday and Wednesday at noon ET.
The series brings Bieber back to platform where it all began for him, when he was just an aspiring singer posting videos on Youtube before he skyrocketed to fame in 2007 after he was discovered. He is currently the most subscribed artist on YouTube with 47.8 million subscribers.
“When I was getting started, YouTube provided me a platform and a community where I could share music, experiences and moments with my fans,” said Justin Bieber in a press statement. “It feels great to partner with YouTube for this original documentary series. I want my fans to be part of this journey.”
As the first original Youtube series from the artist, Seasons offers an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at the arduous journey of Bieber making his first new album in four years told through the “his closest confidants, friends, collaborators and Bieber himself,” promises the press release.
“Justin Bieber’s courage as an artist is truly admirable and we are grateful he continues to share his inspiring story on YouTube,” said Susanne Daniels, Global Head of Original Content for YouTube. “As we aim to spotlight authentic struggles and real-life triumphs in our YouTube Originals, we are thrilled to add this special project to our 2020 slate.”
Along with chronicling the road to his new album, the series will also provide a glimpse into Bieber’s private life, including never-before-seen footage of his wedding to Hailey Bieber and his day-to-day alongside those in his inner circle. With brand new music scoring the episodes, the singer-songwriter and pop icon reflects on growing up in the spotlight, as he gears up for the most personal album of his career.
Fans can tune in tonight to Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve with Ryan Seacrest 2020 on ABC after the ball drops for a preview of the series and a special message from Bieber himself.
Bieber joins an illustrious list of artists who have also partnered with the video streaming giant on original docuseries including Coldplay: Everyday Life – Live in Jordan, How to Be: Mark Ronson, Almost Ready with Shay Mitchell, Taylor Swift – Lover’s Lounge (Live), Demi Lovato: Simply Complicated and Ariana Grande: Dangerous Woman Diaries, among others.
Before the arrival of his docuseries, the pop icon will preview his new album with the lead single ‘Yummy’, set for release on 3 January. The singer also announced he will be hitting the road to support his new album in 2020, with a supporting tour to kick off on 14 May in Seattle.
