Justin Bieber and Ed Sheeran Share New Song, ‘I Don’t Care’
The duo previously collaborated on ‘Love Yourself’, which also appeared on Bieber’s 2015 record ‘Purpose.’
Ed Sheeran and Justin Bieber have shared a new single called ‘I Don’t Care’. You can check out the song’s official lyric video below.
The pop duo are well-versed in love-struck tunes, and the new single is no different. “I don’t care/ As long as you just hold me near/ You can take me anywhere/ You’re making me feel like I’m loved by somebody,” they croon in the hook.
Last week, Sheeran began teasing the new collaboration on social media. He unveiled a photo where the duo are in front of a green screen, captioning it “10. Photoshop spoon.” A few days later he revealed partial lyrics followed by revealing the single’s release date and black-and-white cover art. Bieber shared similar photos in his Instagram feed.
Sheeran and Bieber previously collaborated on ‘Love Yourself’, which also appeared on Bieber’s 2015 record Purpose. Recently, they both appeared on Lil Dicky’s ‘Earth’ (as a baboon and a koala, respectively).
Since Purpose, Bieber has featured on a number of tracks. He most recently appeared with DJ Khaled, Quavo, and Chance the Rapper on ‘No Brainer.’ He also recently made a surprise appearance during Ariana Grande’s Coachella set on 21 April, where he teased that a new album would be coming soon.
Ed Sheeran’s last solo record was 2017’s widely-acclaimed ÷. He will appear as himself in Danny Boyle’s upcoming Beatles-themed film titled Yesterday.
As uDiscover Music previously reported, Ed Sheeran’s Yesterday cameo features the singer suggesting the alternative title of ‘Hey Dude’ for ‘Hey Jude’ and receiving some light ribbing for his “rapping” skills. James Corden also makes an appearance as himself, and Saturday Night Live veteran Kate McKinnon plays a Hollywood bigwig who offers fame and fortune. The cast also includes Cuban actress Ana de Armas (Bladerunner) , comedian Lamorne Morris (New Girl) and Joel Fry.
