John Fogerty Remembers 9/11
John Fogerty will co-headline the Colorado Remembers 9/11 free concert tomorrow (11) in Civic Centre Park, Denver, with Colorado’s own Big Head Todd and the Monsters. The event is scheduled for the 15th anniversary of the attacks on the World Trade Centre and the Pentagon.
The event has been organised by the Counterterrorism Education Learning Lab (CELL). The commemoration, led by Gov. John Hickenlooper and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock, will run from midday to 5pm and honour victims of the attack, first responders and members of the US armed forces. Hit US band the Lumineers had been due to perform at the concert, but were forced to withdraw, citing logistical conflicts with their live schedule.
Fogerty’s appearance comes just before he begins a Fortunate Son In Residence residency at the Venetian Theatre in Las Vegas from next Wednesday (14) until 1 October. After an appearance at the Sonoma Music Festival on 7 October, he continues with his Rollin’ On The River tour in Canada.
Five years ago, on the tenth anniversary of 9/11, Colorado hosted the largest commemorative event outside New York and Washington, including a performance by the Beach Boys. More information about Colorado Remembers 9/11 here.
