John Fogerty Announces New Las Vegas Dates, Additional US Shows
John Fogerty has announced a series of 15 shows at the Wynn Las Vegas resort and casino’s Encore Theatre. The former Creedence Clearwater Revival frontman performed a residency earlier this year at the same venue, but he has now lined up a 9-gig run beginning on 20 September and ending on 7 October 2017 before he returns to play a 6-show stand from January 10 to January 20, 2018.
In a recent interview with Parade magazine, Fogerty explained that his Las Vegas concerts aren’t really all that much different from his other shows, except that, “there’s a little more glitz in production”. He added with a laugh: “Not a whole lot – I don’t come out in a sparkly suit or anything!”
Fans coming out to the concerts can expect to hear plenty of CCR classics, as well as some gems from Fogerty’s solo career. His shows also are a family affair, as his backing band features his sons Shane and Tyler.
“It’s just great,” the 72-year-old Rock & Roll Hall Of Famer told Parade. “We make music together. We travel together. You know, we certainly are with each other all day, like having meals together and stuff. So it’s kind of like being…way back in Little League and Cub Scouts [as a parent], except now everybody is getting paid.”
In addition to his Vegas shows, Fogerty has revealed details of further upcoming U.S. performances for the latter half of 2017. These begin with a 14 July show at the Riveredge Park in Aurora, IL and continue with dates at the Freedom Fest in LaCrosse, WI (15 July), Levitt Pavilion, Westport, CT (24 August) and at the Lockn’ Festival in Arrington, VA, on 26 August. Punctuating his series of Las Vegas shows, Fogerty performs at the WinStar World Casino & Resort at Thackerville, OK, on 28 October.
