Joe Walsh To Guest On Next John Mayall Album
The indefatigable blues trailblazer John Mayall, 82 years young, has been recording his next studio album with his band and a very special guest: none other than the Eagles‘ Joe Walsh.
The band’s 2016 tour continues with dates this month and throughout June, with further shows booked in August and September. There won’t be a European tour by the frontman and his current line-up this year, but Mayall’s website reports that they will return to Europe for a major tour of Europe early in 2017.
Acclaim for the second volume of Live In 1967 recordings by Mayall’s Bluesbreakers on Forty Below Records, released earlier this month, has been widespread. Like its predecessor, the album showcased the Bluesbreakers line-up that included the trio that would soon afterwards became founders of Fleetwood Mac, with lead guitarist Peter Green, bassist John McVie and Mick Fleetwood on drums.
Meanwhile, the site’s newsletter also reveals that the band were at the House of Blues Studio in February again this year to recorded what will be the follow-up to last year’s Find A Way To Care. The next album will be titled Let’s Talk About That and featured Walsh as a special guest. Release information will follow in due course.
