Jimmy Webb Coming Back To UK
One of the great songwriters of any generation, Jimmy Webb, has announced a new UK tour for next spring. A frequent visitor to Britain, Webb will play nine dates of his ‘An Evening Of Songs and Stories’ show here in April 2015, performing material from his incomparable songbook, which has provided career highlights for Glen Campbell, the 5th Dimension, Donna Summer, Richard Harris, Art Garfunkel, Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, Nanci Griffith and countless others.
It’s now 50 years since Webb, from Elk City, Oklahoma, moved to California at the age of 18 and pursued his songwriting career. He performs many of his best-known songs in an intimate setting at his concerts, including ‘Galveston,’ ‘Wichita Lineman,’ ‘By The Time I Get To Phoenix,’ ‘MacArthur Park,’ ‘All I Know,’ ‘The Highwayman’ and many more.
