Watch Jeff Goldblum And The Mildred Snitzer Orchestra On ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’
Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra performed their song ‘My Baby Just Cares for Me’ with singer Haley Reinhart on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live!’ on 8 November 2018.
To celebrate the release of his debut album The Capitol Studios Sessions, Jeff Goldblum and the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra performed their song ‘My Baby Just Cares For Me’ along with singer Haley Reinhart on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night (8 November).
With Goldblum at the keys and Reinhart decked out like a cabaret singer, the jazz ensemble turned Kimmel’s studio into a smoky nightclub. Former American Idol standout Reinhart also guests on the album, which is out today (9) on Decca Records/Verve Label Group.
The jazz ensemble delivered a winsome performance for their late-night debut, showing off Reinhart’s vocal stylings and Goldblum’s charming stage presence.
Before signing with the label, Goldblum turned his passion for jazz into under-the-radar weekly jazz variety show at Rockwell Table and Stage in Los Angeles, where he would noodle on the piano and add impromptu trivia about his own acting credits during intermission.
“I love improvising and that feeling of communication and interplay,” Goldblum said when the album was first announced. “It’s one of the cornerstones of my acting technique. I see my music in the same way.”
Along with Reinhart, the album features some surprising guests including rising Irish star Imelda May and actress and comedian Sarah Silverman.
Soon the cult act turned into a national phenomenon, with the beloved actor experiencing a career renaissance, and now a small European tour that kicks off in London on Saturday 17 November. While no US dates have been announced, fans are hoping he’ll be touring stateside, after he recently played the University of Santa Barbara on 3 November.
Goldblum is also doing a number of media appearances to promote the new album, including at the 92nd Street Y in New York (11 November). He will guest on Late Night with Seth Meyers on the 13th.
The actor and jazzman also shared a new limited line of merch for the band, exclusively at the LA store Virgil Normal.
