James Taylor Announces 2021 Canadian Dates With Bonnie Raitt
The 12-city tour kicks off September 12, 2021 in St. Johns, Newfoundland.
Following the cancellation of his North American tour dates, amid the coronavirus pandemic, James Taylor has announced rescheduled dates with co-headliner Bonnie Raitt for 2021. The 12-date run begins in St. Johns, Newfoundland at the Mile One Centre on September 12, and concludes at the Rogers Arena in Vancouver, BC on October 2.
Taylor announced dates on Instagram today, writing “I’m more than a little excited to announce the rescheduled performance dates for our James Taylor/Bonnie Raitt Canadian Tour. Starting in St. John’s Newfoundland in mid-September ’21, Bonnie and I will work our way West over the following month. It’s a kind of reunion for the two of us and we’re both really excited to share the stage again. Though I say it myself, our last tour together was as good as it gets. I love Bonnie and we both love Canada!”
In May, Taylor also shared rescheduled dates for his US tour with Jackson Browne, which will now begin on May 14, 2021, at New Orleans’ Smoothie King Center.
Taylor kicked off the year with a new album, American Standard, which found the artist putting his own special touch on works by some of the greatest songwriters of the 20th century. The tracklist includes such beloved songs as ‘You’ve Got To Be Carefully Taught’, written by Richard Rodgers and Oscar Hammerstein II for Broadway’s South Pacific, Hoagy Carmichael and Ned Washington’s enthralling ‘The Nearness of You’, the Henry Mancini and Johnny Mercer-penned ‘Moon River’, the cheerful ‘Pennies From Heaven’, by Arthur Johnston and Johnny Burke and ‘God Bless The Child’, from Billie Holiday and Arthur Herzog Jr.
