Watch The Video For James Blake’s ‘Mile High’ Ft. Travis Scott
The new video was directed by Arctic Monkeys and Kendrick Lamar collaborator Nabil.
James Blake has shared the video for his new track ‘Mile High’, featuring Travis Scott and Metro Boomin. The new film was directed by Nabil (Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar).
‘Mile High’ is taken from Blake’s widely-acclaimed new album, Assume Form, which has already charted at No. 6 in the UK Top 40 and at 21 on the US Billboard 200, yielding Blake’s highest transatlantic chart positions. Additionally, Assume Form is currently approaching 60 million global streams.
Assume Form was released via Republic Records on 18 January and saw Blake capturing a range of sonic influences, reuniting with Travis Scott and André 3000, and teaming up Metro Boomin, Moses Sumney and ROSALÍA. The new record follows the success of Blake’s three critically-acclaimed albums, 2010’s James Blake, 2013’s Overgrown, and 2016’s The Colour in Anything, which have established Blake as one of the most ground-breaking producers, singers, and songwriters of his generation.
Over the past several years, Blake has been in high demand as a collaborator, sought after by the biggest names in the music industry including Beyoncé, Frank Ocean, Jay-Z, Oneohtrix Point Never, and Mount Kimbie, among many others. In 2018, Blake co-wrote ‘Element’ on Kendrick Lamar’s platinum-selling DAMN., collaborated on the revolutionary Black Panther soundtrack, and was featured on Travis Scott’s ‘Stop Trying To Be God,’ performing the track alongside Scott on the MTV Video Music Awards.
As uDiscover Music previously revealed James Blake will debut his new music live on his recently announced headlining North American tour. The 17-date tour will kick off in Atlanta on 18 February, making stops in major cities across the U.S. and Canada including Boston, Chicago, Toronto, and 2 nights in New York City, before wrapping in Los Angeles on 16 March.
After this US shows, Blake heads to the UK to play the 02 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester on 7 April, 02 Academy, Bristol (9 April), two nights at London’s Eventim Apollo (18 and 19 April) and he has also been confirmed at play at London’s All Points East Festival on 26 May.
