James Blake To Perform With LA Philharmonic At The Hollywood Bowl
James Blake has announced he will play the Hollywood Bowl this August, joined by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and conductor Thomas Wilkins.
James Blake has announced he will play the iconic Hollywood Bowl this summer, joined by the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Thomas Wilkins as conductor.
The concert will take place at on 22 August, and he will be playing selections from his recent Grammy-nominated record, Assume Form.
Blake’s performance is part of a series of orchestral shows at Hollywood Bowl that also includes Janelle Monáe and Maxwell, both in July.
Towards the end of last year, Blake performed a series of intimate, “Solo Piano” concerts at the Theatre at Ace Hotel in Los Angeles and the Harvey Theatre in New York City.
The talented singer-songwriter and pianist is gearing up for a number of big shows this summer including the South American Lollapaloozas, a handful of European dates and festivals, and a big Hyde Park show with Kendrick Lamar and Brittany Howard.
Blake’s 2019 album Assume Form featured a list of A-list collaborators, from Travis Scott, to Moses Sumney and Spanish singer-songwriter Rosalía. He also recently appeared (along with Sumney) on the new Bon Iver album, i,i.
During a red-carpet interview at the Grammy Awards, the British singer named producer and Billie Eilish’s brother, Finneas, as another dream collaborator to work with in the future.
