Jake Bugg, Jamie T, Pumpkins Up For NME Awards

As the season of music award nominations continues, Jake Bugg, Jamie T, La Roux, St. Vincent, Lana Del Rey, Taylor Swift, Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins and Public Enemy are all among the nominees for the 2015 NME Awards.

The event, fully titled the 2015 NME Awards With Austin, Texas, will take place on February 18 at the 02 Academy Brixton, in south London. Kasabian lead the way with eight nominations, followed by Virgin’s Jamie T and Royal Blood with seven each. Jamie T’s nods include Best Solo Artist, in which category he is joined by Bugg, Del Rey, St. Vincent and La Roux, as well as by Jack White.

The Libertines, newly signed to Virgin, have nominations for Best Live Act and Music Moment of the Year for their reunion. The latter category also features the reunion of the surviving members of Nirvana at the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame.

Smashing Pumpkins’ and Public Enemy’s nominations are in the Reissue of the Year category, for Universal’s deluxe repackaging of their classic albums ‘Adore’ and ‘It Takes A Nation Of Millions To Hold Us Back’ respectively.
