Imagine Dragons, Ariana Grande To Headline Las Vegas’ New Year’s Eve Weekend
Imagine Dragons have also recently announced the release of their fourth album ‘Origins’ due out on 9 November.
Imagine Dragons and Ariana Grande have confirmed they are taking over Sin City for New Year’s Eve weekend this year. The two will be headlining at the Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas’ celebratory weekend to ring in 2019. Grande will kick off the festivities on 29 December at The Chelsea, with Imagine Dragons to follow on 31 December.
“The Las Vegas Strip is a worldwide destination for New Year’s Eve, and we are excited to have hometown favorites Imagine Dragons and the incredibly talented Ariana Grande perform for this year’s celebration at The Chelsea,” Fedor Banuchi, vice president of entertainment at the Cosmopolitan, said in a statement.
Recently, Maroon 5 also announced they would be taking part in the New Year’s Eve weekend festivities in Las Vegas, playing two shows at the Mandalay Bay Events Center on 30 and 31 December.
“Vegas is the place to be on New Year’s Eve,” Maroon 5 guitarist James Valentine told the Las Vegas Review-Journal prior to the band’s NYE shows here last year. “It really has become a hardcore tradition for us. We turn it into a party for ourselves, too. We invite a lot of our friends out from Los Angeles — and from all over. My family usually comes in from Utah. It’s a huge party.”
“It’s such a great time to feel the energy of Vegas”, he continued. “People are dressed up. There’s an extra amount of excitement in the air.”
As uDiscover Music previously reported, Imagine Dragons have just announced the release of their fourth studio album, entitled Origins, on 9 November via KIDinaKORNER/Polydor Records. Origins is released 16 months after Imagine Dragons’ previous album, Evolve, which has been certified Gold in the UK and entered the chart at No. 3, and is now certified double platinum in the US.
Tickets for Imagine Dragons and Ariana Grande start at $100 and go on sale Friday, 12 October at 10 a.m. PDT and are available for purchase online at the Cosmopolitan’s website.
