HEALTH Return With New Single ‘ASHAMED’
The band’s ‘RAT WARS’ LP will arrive on December 7.
Following an interview on Apple Radio’s The Zane Lowe Show, and a cover feature on Apple Music’s New Music Daily playlist, HEALTH have released their latest single, “ASHAMED.”
The corrupted R&B pop banger–a raw and emotional gut punch–is the latest preview of the LA-based industrial-rock band’s highly anticipated new album, RAT WARS, due out December 7 via Loma Vista Recordings. The track is out now alongside a video directed by HEALTH’s bassist/producer John Famiglietti and James Kid, and capturing Famiglietti’s recent visits to the Anime Expo in Los Angeles, CA and DragonCon in Atlanta, GA. Check out the visual below.
Earlier this month, the band shared a chilling new video for one of their latest singles, “SICKO.” The track will also be featured on RAT WARS. The visual pairs the engrossing track—a half-time hellscape that samples Godflesh’s “Like Rats”—with eerie clips from 90s indie horror scenes.
Director Mynxii White explained: “Taking inspiration from the haunting imagery of 90s music videos by GODFLESH, we put together a video collage of some of our own favorite obscure horror moments of the same time period in one ‘sick’ video for ‘SICKO.’ Some of my best memories are from the stranger indie movies I’d watch in the middle of the night when everyone was sleeping, and it was a lot of fun going back in time to pull moments like a ‘greatest hits’ of all those dark hours of bloody horror.”
Produced by Stint (Oliver Tree, Demi Lovato) and mixed by Lars Stalfors (SALEM, The Neighbourhood), the 12-track LP joins the lineage of groundbreaking heavy acts like Nine Inch Nails and Ministry, which re-drew the borders between metal, electronic, and pop music.
HEALTH also announced a 2024 headlining U.S. tour beginning March 2 in Ventura, CA and including shows at NYC’s Brooklyn Steel on March 15 and LA’s Belasco Theater on April 4. Pixel Grip and King Yosef will be supporting on all dates.
