Hans Zimmer Announces UK Tour With Full Symphony Orchestra For 2019
The tour will see some of Zimmer’s most celebrated compositions arranged with a live symphony orchestra for the first time.
Hans Zimmer is bringing a new show to the UK and Ireland arenas next spring. Billed as ‘The World Of Has Zimmer – A Symphonic Celebration’, the tour will see some of his most celebrated compositions arranged with a live symphony orchestra for the first time. Zimmer has personally overseen all of the arrangements for the tour. You can check out full dates and ticket details below.
The composer is known for his work on widely-acclaimed film scores including The Lion King, Gladiator, The Dark Knight, Inception and Interstellar. The composer is currently working on the upcoming Lion King live-action reboot, starring Donald Glover and Beyoncé.
The Academy Award-winning German-born composer last performed in Europe during a spectacular 2017 world tour, which spawned the critically-hailed Live In Prague DVD, which was issued by Eagle Rock on 3 November 2017.
Also during his 2017 tour, the composer paid tribute to the victims of London’s Grenfell Tower disaster. “I don’t know how to not mention what happened yesterday,” Zimmer told the crowd before performing ‘Roll Tide’ from The Crimson Tide, “but when a tragedy happens you all pull together.”
Touched by how people had spent their “hard earned money to be here tonight,” Zimmer then vowed to give all of the proceeds from the show to those effected by the Grenfell Tower blaze. He then said “We are all London” while receiving a standing ovation.
Hans Zimmer’s 2019 will cover Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow, London and Dublin before continuing onto Europe. Tickets for the tour go on sale at 10am on 19 October.
