Haim Announce UK, Irish Shows For Summer 2018
Haim have announced a series of UK and Irish shows to date for the summer of 2018. Announcing the news on Twitter, sisters Este, Danielle and Alana Haim shared a video that saw them dancing to the Spice Girls outside Alexandra Palace – where they’ll be playing their biggest UK headline show to date.
The announcement comes fresh off the back of the band’s victory at the VO5 NME Awards 2018, where the Californian rockers bagged the gong for Best International Band supported by 19 Crimes Winery after beating off strong competition from The National, Foo Fighters, The Killers, Paramore and Migos.
Collecting it from model Portia Freeman and actor Tyger Drew Honey, Este Haim said: “Holy s_t guys. Um. We want to thank the NME for always being so cool to us and always being champions of music.
“And also the fans, everyone here. And anyone that identifies as a girl. Whenever you walk into a guitar shop or a soundcheck or a recording studio, do not let anyone that’s there intimidate you, or make you feel like you don’t belong there, because you do belong there. Thank you.”
The shows will be in support of Haim’s second studio album Something To Tell You. The record features tracks including ‘Want You Back’ and ‘Little Of Your Love’ and it reached the No. 2 spot on the UK Album Chart.
These shows will mark Haim’s first tour here in the UK in four years. The last time they played a UK tour was in support of their number one debut album. In 2017, however, they played a huge Glastonbury Festival set on the Other Stage.
Haim play the following UK and Ireland shows. Tickets are on general sale from 9am on 23 February.
10 June: Glasgow, O2 Academy
11 June: Manchester, O2 Apollo
12 June: Dublin, Olympia
15 June: London, Alexandra Palace.
