Haim have shared a new star-studded video for their song ‘Hallelujah’ featuring Ezra Koenig, Emma Stone, Clairo, Childish Gambino, Charli XCX, along with fans and family.
The LA-based sister trio first released a music video for their single this past November, directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, who had also helmed previous videos for the band.
After debuting the initial video, the band shared the inspiration behind the track, writing: “My verse is about our relationship as sisters. That feeling of knowing what your sibling is gonna do or say before they do it. Sibling telepathy is a real thing!!!! That is what inspired the concept for this video.”
Later the band solicited their fans to share who they were thankful for, resulting in the video montage of fans, friends and even the band’s parents singing along to the lyrics.
“2019 is coming to a close and here’s a little something to say thank you for all the love you guys have given our songs that we released this year,” the video description reads.
“We appreciate everyone who submitted, and we added a few surprises too! There’s so much more we want to share but you’re just gonna have to wait till 2020.”
While no date has been confirmed for album number three, Haim have been steadily releasing new music throughout the year starting with ‘Summer Girl’, followed by ‘Now I’m in It’ and more recently a number of covers including Leonard Cohen’s ‘If It Be Your Will’ and Robyn’s ‘Show Me Love’.
“The whole mantra of this record is about being fearless and not holding yourself back,” Danielle Haim told NME in a recent interview.
“I feel like there are so many times when there’s that voice in your head going. ‘Be scared, be scared, stop, stop, stop,’ and with this record, we’ve shut that thing off so if one of us is like that, I have two sisters who say, ‘Keep going,’” Alana added.
