Guns N’ Roses Share Footage From 2016 Shows in Houston And Mexico City
The performances are the latest installments in the band’s ‘Not In This Lifetime Selects’ series.
Guns N’ Roses have shared footage from shows in Houston and Mexico City in their on-going ‘Not in This Lifetime Selects’ livestream series.
Lasting 35 minutes in all, the footage comes from the band’s original 2016 leg of their ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour. The Houston show took place at NRG Stadium on August 5. The Mexico City airing is slightly unclear because the band played multiple shows in the Mexican capital city that year. The sets, though, are similar. You can check the action out below.
The legendary rockers launched their ‘Not in This Lifetime Selects’ streaming series in May by sharing a 2019 show from Salt Lake City at Vivint Smart Home Arena. They followed with their 2018 slot at the Download Festival in the U.K.
Guns N’ Roses played one show this year (coincidentally, in Mexico) before having to postpone their tour plans due to the coronavirus pandemic. However, the band recently announced the rescheduled live dates from their 2020 North America tour and have also revealed a new set of dates for their European tour, kicking off in Portugal on June 2, 2021 with their rescheduled London dates taking place on June 18 and 19.
In a statement, the band said: “We are forever grateful for your understanding and continued support during these unprecedented times. We are looking forward to getting back on stage.”
The band’s ‘Not In This Lifetime’ tour, which began four years ago, recently became the third highest-grossing tour in the history of Billboard Boxscore. Launched in April 2016, ‘Not in This Lifetime’ featured classic GNR line-up members Slash, Duff McKagan and singer Axl Rose backed by guitarist Richard Fortus, drummer Frank Ferrer, keyboardist Dizzy Reed and second keyboardist Melissa Reese.
Guns N’ Roses kicked off their long-rumored and long-awaited reunion tour with a club show in Hollywood and appearances in Las Vegas and at California’s Coachella festival.
