Grace Jones, Kylie Minogue To Headline Brighton Pride 2019
The festival bill also includes Jessie J and Clean Bandit among other big names.
Kylie Minogue and Grace Jones will lead the line-up for this year’s Brighton Pride. The hugely popular festival returns to the seaside from 2-4 August, a year after Britney Spears drew record crowds to the city’s Preston Park.
The soul legend and the Australian pop icon join a line-up that already includes the likes of Clean Bandit and Jessie J. Kylie takes top billing on Saturday’s Pride in the Park event, while Jones will headline the Sunday’s LoveBN1Fest.
Although early bird tickets are currently sold out, a second release is currently on sale through the festival’s official website while a final batch of tickets will go on sale at a later date.
A spokesman for Brighton Pride said: “LoveBN1Fest, the Pride Sunday In The Park on Sunday 4 August 2019, is all set for another spectacular festival with the announcement of not one, but two, legendary headliners in Kylie Minogue and Grace Jones.
“Grace Jones has lived the life most people only dream of. From a string of dance club hits like ‘I Need A Man’, ‘La Vie En Rose’ ‘My Jamaican Guy’ and ‘Love on Top of Love (Killer Kiss)’ produced by C&C Music Factory to the critically acclaimed albums Warm Leatherette, Nightclubbing and Slave to the Rhythm, her voice and the anthems are as ingrained in our memories.”
The confirmation of Kylie Minogue’s trip to Brighton Pride comes after it was finally confirmed that she will finally make her Glastonbury debut later this year.
The pop icon will appear on the Sunday of the iconic festival, 30 June, performing on the Pyramid Stage in the teatime slot that has previously played host to the likes of Dolly Parton, Lionel Richie and Neil Diamond. The performance comes some 14 years after treatment for breast cancer forced her to pull out of a headline appearance.
Confirming the show, Kylie previously wrote on Twitter: “I’m so thrilled to announce that I’ll be playing the ‘Legend slot’ on Sunday 30th June at @GlastoFest 2019. It will be 14 years since I was originally meant to appear there and so much has happened up to now. I can’t wait to see you all there to share this special show.”
