Good Times In Boogie Wonderland, As Earth, Wind & Fire & Chic Tour Together
Two of the most-loved groups of the disco era, Earth, Wind & Fire and Chic featuring Nile Rodgers, will tour North American arenas together this summer.
The joint itinerary will be called 2054 the Tour, seen as a possible reference to New York’s famous Studio 54 disco. It starts on 12 July in Oakland, concluding with a 22 August date in Detroit and with a stop along the way at Madison Square Garden in New York on 7 August.
The tour will feature a special guest DJ and the seating will be configured with extra space to make it easier for audiences to exercise their dancing feet to the full. Tickets go on sale on Friday (28 April).
Says Philip Bailey, one of Earth, Wind & Fire’s lead vocalists and original members: “Nile Rodgers and Chic are legendary for their iconic style, song, sound, and groove. Get ready for a non-stop 2054 party!” Bailey, a Grammy Award-winner in his own right, has also won six Grammys as a member of EW&F.
Rodgers recently received the Award for Musical Excellence from the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. He advises fans to “get your feet ready for a deluge of hits!”
