FINNEAS Announces New Album ‘For Cryin’ Out Loud’
The artist’s second solo studio album is due out on October 4th.
FINNEAS has announced his second studio album, For Cryin’ Out Loud. The record arrives October 4th.
The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter produced the entire record himself, drawing central inspiration from a series of close-knit live studio sessions he’d held in Los Angeles. For Cryin’ Out Loud follows FINNEAS’ debut record OPTIMIST, which he shared in 2021. He performed his first-ever London live show, at the Electric Ballroom, on August 30, 2023.

FINNEAS’ second solo endeavor follows his sister and creative partner Billie Eilish‘s third record HIT ME HARD AND SOFT, which Finneas produced. His work with Eilish on the Barbie the Album song “What Was I Made For,” which he also co-wrote, earned him his second Academy Award earlier this year, for Best Original Song. In 2023, Eilish’ 2019 hit “Bad Guy” became the duo’s first official RIAA-certified Diamond single.
“What Was I Made For” also won the duo a Golden Globe this year, which Eilish accepted with a speech thanking her brother.
“I was not expecting this in this moment. Thank you to my brother, Finneas,” she began. “You are the reason I am who I am.”
All the way back in 2021, FINNEAS himself also discussed his working relationship with Eilish, explaining part of why their connection felt so special.
“I like working with anyone that you could list that I’ve worked with,” Finneas told NME at the time. “I haven’t had a terrible experience working with anybody. But I think just the intimacy of a relationship with a sibling is impossible to replicate or duplicate.”
