Justin Bieber, Maluma, Tori Kelly And More Join Bill Nye Hosted ‘Earth Day! The Musical’
The special, being held on Facebook Watch on April 22, aims to raise awareness about climate change.
The line-up for the forthcoming Facebook Watch special Earth Day! The Musical with Bill Nye the Science Guy has been revealed to feature a star group of performers, including Justin Bieber, Maluma, Tori Kelly, and more. Created alongside EARTHDAY.org, the event, which airs on April 22, aims to raise awareness about climate change.
Among the Earth Day! The Musical special guests are Broadway stars Ben Platt and Idina Menzel as well as TikTok stars Charli and Dixie D’Amelio. Also on the lineup are musicians Jack Harlow, CNCO, Cody Simpson, and Steve Aoki. A number of actors and personalities have been recruited for the event, including Zac Efron, Nick Kroll, Jasmine Cephas Jones, Karamo Brown, Desus Nice, and The Kid Mero.
A long-time science educator, Nye is encouraging young people to do what they can to benefit the restoration of Earth as concerns around climate change continue to rise. To aid in spreading a thorough message during the event, he has also recruited a team of young activists fighting climate change.
An appearance will be made by 18-year-old Jerome Foster II who is currently the youngest member of the Biden White House Environmental Justice Advisory Council, as well as climate activist and Fridays for the Future strike movement organizer Xiye Bastida. Alexia Akbay, who founded and serves as the CEO of the startup Symbrosia, which uses seaweed to combat livestock methane, will also be featured.
Hosts of the event include actress and activist Milana Vayntrub and 15-year-old activist and organizer Alexandria Villaseñor. “Honored to co-host the EARTHDAY.org livestream … and to introduce incredible artists, movement leaders, and people doing the work daily to make our planet safer,” Vayntrub shared on Instagram.
Earth Day! The Musical can be viewed on April 22 during the Facebook Watch Earth Day livestream beginning at noon EST.
