Elyanna Releases Debut Album ‘Woledto,’ Video For ‘Ganeni’
The album is, ’…a rebirth of myself while at the same time serving as the unveiling of Elyanna,’ the singer says.
Elyanna releases with her highly anticipated debut album, Woledto alongside the single and video for “Ganeni” via Universal Arabic Music.
With this release, Elyanna has unveiled a new layer of her artistry and sound, marking a significant moment of rebirth both musically and personally—a true testament to the translation of Woledto, meaning “I am born.”
Crafted with meticulous details, Woledto seamlessly blends traditional and modern sounds from across the globe as she pays homage to her Palestinian and Chilean roots, presenting Elyanna in her full artistic essence.
“This album is my debut and it lives in its own world and despite being my first, it is for me a rebirth of myself while at the same time serving as the unveiling of Elyanna,” explains Elyanna.
“It’s something I’ve never heard before, yet it feels nostalgic. It holds so much culture and it’s Spanish-inspired with a feature from my Grandfather. To me this album is a journey through identity, love, rage, feminism and is inspired by Palestine and the whole Arab diaspora.”
“Sad In Pali,” a standout track, features a poignant recitation of her grandfather’s poetry, serving as testament to the influence of family in Elyanna’s life and career. This track encapsulates the importance of heritage and the bond with loved ones, adding depth and emotional resonance to the album. Additionally, Woledto was executive produced by her brother Feras, along with Massari and Nasri Atweh, symbolizing the collaborative spirit and familial support that underpin Elyanna’s artistry.
As Elyanna continues to push boundaries and redefine her definition of contemporary music, Woledto stands as a testament to her unwavering dedication to her heritage and her role as a cultural trailblazer. “Every lyric, every beat and every melody has so much intention and the more you listen the more the layers and messages uncover,” expresses Elyanna. “It’s a free experimental project that I always wanted to do but wanted to wait until I’m ready, and now that it’s time, I’m proud to announce it and call it “Woledto” which means I am born…It’s only the start of my journey.”
