Elton’s Wonderful Crazy Night
Elton John has confirmed details of his 33rd studio album, to be titled Wonderful Crazy Night and released on 5, February, 2016. The first single, ‘Looking Up,’ will be available from tomorrow (23 October).
The new set was co-produced by Elton and his frequent studio collaborator of recent years, T-Bone Burnett, and follows their work together on the singer-songwriter’s last studio release, 2013’s The Diving Board, and John’s 2010 collaboration with Leon Russell, The Union.
All of the songs on Wonderful Crazy Night have music written by Elton and lyrics by Bernie Taupin, as their remarkable co-writing collabation now extends to 48 years. Drummer Nigel Olsson, from Elton’s original three-piece group, and guitarist Davey Johnstone, with whom he started working in 1971, play on the album, with longtime percussionist Ray Cooper on five tracks. They’re joined by bassist Matt Bissonette, keyboard player Kim Bullard and percussionist John Mahon.
