Elton John Adds New Dates To North American Leg Of His Farewell Tour
The Stateside dates will end with three performances at LA’s Dodger Stadium
Elton John has added a raft of new dates to the North American leg of his Farewell Yellow Brick Road final tour.
The legendary musician will complete his touring in the US and Canada in November at Los Angeles’ Dodger Stadium – the location of his two iconic, sold-out concerts in 1975. With the newly added dates announced today (March 29), John will round out his Stateside shows with three appearances at the venue.
“It’s hard to believe that after tomorrow (30) in St. Louis, I’ll have just a handful of shows left before I wrap up my final arena performances in the United States,” John said in a video message. “This year will see my grand finale in North America, playing stadiums all around the country with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had.
“Thank you for sharing this journey with me. I cherish these memories we’re making together. It has been nothing short of incredible and I look forward to seeing you very soon, one last time on my Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour.”
Tickets for the new dates will go on sale at 10am local time on April 6 and will be available to purchase here. Fans can sign up to the star’s Rocket Club to gain access to an exclusive pre-sale, which begins on April 1.
John celebrated his 75th birthday last week (25), gifting fans with a Dolby Atmos mix of his Diamonds: The Ultimate Greatest Hits album to mark the milestone occasion. He also appeared in a new episode of his friend and collaborator Dua Lipa’s podcast, Dua Lipa: At Your Service.
During the show, the pair chatted about some of John’s most memorable songs and moments, while he also shared tales of wild nights out at Studio 54.
“I feel unbelievably lucky that at 75 I still love what I do so much – I’m still so energized about music and excited I get to play, listen and talk about this every single day,” he said of his birthday. “Being back on the road is a blast and the thrill of playing live is as amazing as it was 50 years ago. I have so much to pass on to the new generation of fans and artists alike, and I’m determined to keep giving back to the industry that has given me so much.”
Meanwhile, the iconic pop superstar is among numerous musicians, entertainment stars, and activists who will be taking part in the Stand Up For Ukraine social media rally on April 9. The online movement will see participants flood social networking sites with messages calling on world leaders to provide more tangible support for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine as the Russian invasion continues.
