Eagles Of Death Metal Score Brit Nomination!
Following the most remarkable year of their career to date, Eagles Of Death Metal have kicked off 2016 in fine style, bagging a nomination for Best International Group at this year’s Brit Awards. One of 22 Universal artists nominated for a Brit this year, EODM rightly stand alongside Alabama Shakes, Major Lazer, Tame Impala and U2 in their category, thanks to their high-octane return with 2015’s Zipper Down album.
Being nominated alongside U2 is also a reminder of the unity both bands showed in Paris on 7 December 2015, less than a month after EODM’s 13 November concert at the Bataclan was hit by the tragic terrorist attacks in the French capital. Marking the group’s first return to the stage after curtailing their scheduled tour, EODM joined U2 for a cover of Patti Smith’s ‘People Have The Power’, before U2 made way for them to perform their own ‘I Love You All The Time’.
The Brit Awards are being held on 24 February this year, the same night that EODM will be back in France as part of their rescheduled dates – The Nos Amis Tour – performing at Lille’s Le Splendid. It will be their second French show of the year, after the group return to Paris on 16 February to headline at the Olympia.
