Diddy And Teyana Taylor Share Video For ‘Closer To God’
The track is featured on Diddy’s new album ‘The Love Album: Off The Grid.’
Diddy has shared a music video for his Teyana Taylor-assisted track “Closer to God,” the latest single off his recently released The Love Album: Off The Grid.
The video, directed by Taylor, finds Diddy and Teyana seeking enlightenment through love in Joshua Tree; Diddy previously enlisted “Spike Tey” to helm his 2022 video for “Gotta Move On.”
“Teyana is not just an incredible artist, she’s my sister,” Diddy said in a statement. “She has this undeniable force and raw emotion she brings to every project. When we began conceptualizing ‘Closer To God,’ her name was at the forefront of my mind. I had to convince her to come out of retirement, but I knew she would perfectly capture the spiritual essence and depth of the song. Collaborating with her on both the song and its visual was like harmonizing with a kindred spirit. Together, we’ve created something truly special.”
Taylor added, “Working on ‘Closer To God’ was a spiritual journey in itself. The song’s message of love and divine connection resonated deeply with me, and visually representing that was a beautiful challenge. I believe we’ve created something that will touch people’s souls. The video captures the profound sentiment of feeling divinely connected when in the presence of true love. It paints a picture of raw emotion, vulnerability, and the magic of finding someone who brings you closer to the divine.”
The Love Album: Off the Grid was released on September 15 via his Love Records imprint. The album includes “Another One of Me” featuring The Weeknd, which was teased as a pre-album single. Other artists to be featured on the project include Taylor, Justin Bieber, Mary J. Blige, Jazmine Sullivan, H.E.R., Summer Walker, Babyface, John Legend, Busta Rhymes, Dawn Richard, Kalenna, Ty Dolla $ign, Kehlani, 21 Savage, Burna Boy, the late J Dilla, and many many more.
