Diana Ross Makes History With New Dance Remix No.1
‘I’m Coming Out’/Upside Down 2018’ have given the legendary singer her second dance chart-topper in a row.
Diana Ross has created history, as the legendary entertainer climbs to No. 1 on Billboard’s Dance Club Songs chart with ‘I’m Coming Out’/Upside Down 2018.’ The remixes are available via Universal/Motown.
The new success is Ms. Ross’ second chart-topper in a row on the dance countdown, following January’s ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough.’ It marks the first time that any artist has scored back-to-back No. 1s with songs that also topped charts in their original versions. ‘Ain’t No Mountain High Enough’ led the US pop and R&B bestsellers in 1970, while ‘Love Hangover’ and ‘Upside Down’ both did the same as well as reaching the dance chart summit.
The remix of ‘Ain’t No Mountain’ is featured on Diamond Diana: The Legacy Collection, which as reported by uDiscover in November 2017, is a 15-song salute to her peerles career, including such timeless hits as ‘I’m Coming Out,’ ‘Touch Me In The Morning,’ her Lionel Richie duet ‘Endless Love’ and the original versions of both ‘Upside Down’ and ‘I’m Coming Out.’
The new two-song dance smash, which has been climbing the club chart over the past eight weeks, was remixed by Eric Kupper, Chris Cox and Stonebridge, among others. Diamond Diana: The Legacy Collection became a top 20 entry for Ross on the US R&B album chart, and reached No. 30 on the Billboard 200. Her most recent studio album was I Love You, released in 2006.
