Dhani Harrison Announces US Tour For November 2017
Dhani Harrison, son of The Beatles’ George Harrison has announced a US tour in support of his debut album IN///PARALLEL, released on 6 October 2017 via BMG.
A statement about the LP describes IN///PARALLEL as “echoing his influences over the past few years as a composer”. In recent years, Harrison has scored several films and TV shows, including Outsiders and Amazon’s 2015 series Good Girls Revolt.
Released in July 2017, the album’s lead single, ‘All About Waiting’ was described by Rolling Stone as a “psychedelic electro-rock odyssey filled with throbbing synthesizers and psychological pondering. “Even though you’re present in the moment,” Harrison croons on the song, “doesn’t mean that you’re not sad and lonely.”
Renowned for his prolific output, Dhani Harrison previously played guitar and sang in London alt-rock act thenewno2 with Oliver Hecks. The duo released three albums and two EPs, most recently the score to 2013 film Beautiful Creatures.
In addition, Harrison also appeared in the alt.rock super group Fistful Of Mercy, where he lined up alongside Ben Harper and Joseph Arthur. Earlier in 2017, Harrison joined the closing performance at the 2017 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction, during which he helped induct Electric Light Orchestra. Together with Pearl Jam, Rush’s Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson, Journey’s Neil Schon and Jonathan Cain, and Yes guitarist Trevor Rabin, Harrison then played Neil Young’s ‘Rockin’ In the Free World’. He is also one of many collaborators featured on UNKLE’s new album The Road: Part 1.
