Darius Rucker Announces 2022 US Theater Tour, Launches Apparel Line
The country star will also perform ‘My Masterpiece’ on ABC’s ‘Good Morning America.’
Darius Rucker is looking forward to “a lot of firsts” on the 12-date US theater tour he has announced to open next February. The country star has also confirmed an appearance later this week on ABC’s Good Morning America.
Darius Rucker Live will open on February 17 at the Met in Philadelphia, and the itinerary is set to embrace much-loved concert halls such as the Beacon Theater in New York, the Orpheum in Minneapolis, the Fox in Detroit and, to close the run on April 1, the Saenger Theater in New Orleans.
Caylee Hammack will be Rucker’s opening guest on all shows, and tickets go on general sale this Friday (5) at 10am CT via Ticketmaster. The same day, he will perform his current single “My Masterpiece” on Good Morning America. The song is due to be included on his next studio album, the follow-up to 2017’s When Was The Last Time, in 2022.
“It’s been a dream of mine for a while to bring our show to these beautiful theaters,” says Rucker. “Some of my favorite venue memories over the years are at places like the Apollo in New York or the Royal Albert Hall in London, as it’s just a different experience when you’re that close. With Hootie [and the Blowfish], we went straight from playing dive bars to arenas, so there are still a lot of theaters I’ve never had the opportunity to play. I’ll just say that this tour will have a lot of firsts, even for me.”
Rucker performed last Saturday at the 5,000th broadcast of the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville with such fellow stars as Garth Brooks, Bill Anderson, Terri Clark, Vince Gill, Chris Janson, Jeannie Seely, Connie Smith, the Gatlin Brothers, and Chris Young.
The sports fan’s new football apparel line, NFL x Darius Rucker Collection by Fanatics, will be launched later this month, offering T-shirts, fleeces, outerwear, and other items for all 32 NFL teams. It will be available at NFLshop.com and Fanatics.com.
