Costello at Carnegie
Elvis Costello will play his first-ever solo headline dates at New York’s hallowed Carnegie Hall next month.
The two dates, on June 24 and 25, titled ‘The Last Year of My Youth,’ are part of a month-long solo tour of North America that begins on June 9 in St. Paul, Minneapolis. Other eye-catching venues during the run include a concert at the “Mother Church of Country Music,” the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, on June 21, and a closing show at the Montreal Jazz Festival on June 29.
European fans get their next chance to see Costello from September, with an extensive tour that takes in Bergen, Oslo, Munich, Paris, Vienna, and London’s Royal Albert Hall. “This show may contain any song I’ve written,” says Elvis. “Some you will know already, some are the hits of tomorrow.”
Last September, Elvis released his much-acclaimed and typically adventurous collaboration with the Roots, ‘Wise Up Ghost,’ on the legendary Blue Note label.
