Collective Soul ‘Continuing’ With Ninth Album
Collective Soul, the multi-platinum rock band from Stockbridge, Georgia, have signed to Vanguard Records and will make their debut for the label with the new album ‘See What You Started By Continuing’ on October 2. Tickets go on sale tomorrow (31) for the band’s extensive North American tour, which will open on September 29 and run for two complete months.
The new album, Collective Soul’s ninth, is being previewed by the first single ‘This,’ which sees them in fine, rocking form, as you can hear for yourself here:
Collective Soul burst into the mainstream in 1994 with the album ‘Hints Allegations and Things Left Unsaid,’ which went double platinum in the US and included the gold-selling single ‘Shine,’ among other hits. Their self-titled follow-up album of 1995 was even more successful, going triple platinum in America.
‘See What You Started By Continuing’ was recorded at Edible Studios in Atlanta, and followed a year-long break that the band decided to take after 19 years of non-stop work. “When we came back together,” says rhythm guitarist Dean Roland, “we were rested and more confident than we had ever been in our careers.
“We never thought of this as a second chance, but more of a second breath,” he continues. “We wanted to continue doing what we had always done and that was to make guitar driven music.”
