Carrie Underwood’s ‘My Savior’ Ryman Auditorium Show Comes To DVD
Pre-orders of the DVD, bundled with the ‘My Savior’ CD, have begun at multiple US retailers.
Carrie Underwood’s live performance at the Ryman Auditorium in Nashville on Easter Sunday will be released on DVD as My Savior: LIVE From The Ryman on July 23.
The performance by the seven-time Grammy winner will be out via Gaither Music Group in partnership with Capitol Records Nashville, with distribution by Capitol Christian Music Group/Universal. It brought to the concert stage her acclaimed and multiple chart-topping My Savior album. The DVD includes guest appearances from the show with gospel heroine CeCe Winans, on “Great Is Thy Faithfulness,” and NEEDTOBREATHE frontman Bear Rinehart, on “Nothing But The Blood Of Jesus.”
Pre-orders of the DVD, bundled with the My Savior CD, begin today (June 14) at Amazon, Walmart, Target, and other national US retailers, as well as at Gaither Music.
The livestream of the event, which was broadcast globally on Facebook on Easter Sunday, raised more than $112,000 for Save the Children.
Also on July 23, a TV special featuring performances from the My Savior: LIVE From The Ryman DVD is to air on networks including PBS, DIRECTV, DISH TV, Circle TV, TBN, RFD-TV, and others. It will air in Canada on The Miracle Channel, Vision TV, Hope TV, and CTS (Crossroads). The special is also due to air on GAITHERTV (Roku/Apple/Amazon) and on the Gaither TV YouTube Channel, for a limited time from July 23.
Underwood said of the project in the lead-up to the Ryman show that My Savior was “an album I have always wanted to record and I’m thrilled to be able to bring these uplifting, inspirational songs to life in this special way.” The live show, like the album, included further guest appearances by southern gospel and harmonica great Buddy Greene and the ten-time winner of the CMA Musician of the Year Award, Mac McAnally.
