C2C 2016 To Star Miranda, Kacey, Yoakam & Other Country Greats
The stellar line-up has just been announced for C2C 2016, the Country To Country Festival, which returns to Europe in March next year and will feature such huge names in country music as Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves, Carrie Underwood, Eric Church, Dwight Yoakam and Little Big Town.
The ever-growing popularity of the event in the UK and country music in general means that, for the first time, Country To Country will take place over three consecutive days, Friday to Sunday, 11-13 March, 2016 in three cities; The O2, London; Clyde Auditorium, Glasgow; and 3Arena in Dublin.
Also confirmed for next year’s bill are other current major names and rising stars of the genre, Thomas Rhett, Sam Hunt, Chris Stapleton, Maddie and Tae, Andrew Combs and Ashley Monroe. The London weekend will also host the CMA Songwriters Series on Thursday, 10 March, as well as nightly after-show parties and more than 30 notable new artists on pop-up stages around The 02. 40 performances per day on five free-to-watch stages will again be augmented by the Town Square area, with food, drink and entertainment stands.
In March this year, C2C 2015 saw 80,000 country fans filling The O2, London and 3Arena Dublin for a weekend of music featuring such superstars as Luke Bryan, Lady Antebellum, Florida Georgia Line and Jason Aldean. The main stage bill featured other such acclaimed names as Lee Ann Womack, Brantley Gilbert, Brandy Clark and Kip Moore, while the new satellite stage hosted emerging British country artists the Shires, Ward Thomas and ‘Nashville’ TV series star Sam Palladio.
The 2016 bill was announced tonight (Tuesday) at a special event at the Brooklyn Bowl, at The 02 in London, by BBC Radio 2 presenter and country champion Bob Harris. The announcement was followed by a special performance by Little Big Town, who said: “We are so excited to be coming back to C2C and performing for our fans in the UK and Ireland. We had the most incredible time playing in 2013 and are honoured to return with such an amazing line up.”
