In the new visual, the group have found themselves in a number of dark and desolate settings, before the chorus kicks in and they’re surrounded by sunshine, gold confetti and golden retrievers, as they dream of brighter days ahead.

Directed by Ko Yoo Jeong, the video is about coming together after a long journey and finding paradise together.

“Stay gold, even in your dreams/ Stay gold, I’ll find you/ Stay gold, gold, I want to touch you/ Stay gold, your entire being/ Stay gold, enthrals me/ Stay gold, I want you as mine,” the group sings on the soaring chorus.

Along with ‘Stay Gold’, the album will also include Japanese language versions of the band’s biggest hits like ‘Boy With Luv’, ‘Dionysus’, ‘On’ and ‘Fake Love’, as well as two other original Japanese-language offerings: ‘Your Eyes Tell’ and ‘Lights’.

‘Stay Gold’ has also made a recent appearance in the new Japanese TV drama Spiral Labyrinth –DNA Science, where it serves as the J-drama’s theme song.

Since premiering earlier today, the ‘Stay Gold’ video has already racked up over 16 million views and counting.

The ‘Stay Gold’ video has arrived just as BTS made major sales and chart history in Japan, the second-largest music industry in the world behind the United States. Last week, Japanese music chart Oricon revealed its mid-year sales statistics sharing that BTS topped its overall album-sales rankings for the first half of 2020. That feat comes thanks to the group’s latest K-pop album Map of the Soul: 7 selling 429,000 copies in the region since its February release, according to Oricon.

BTS will be releasing Map Of The Soul : 7 ~ The Journey ~ digitally at 11:00 am EDT / 8:00 am PDT on 14 July (midnight JST on 15 July), followed by the physical products on 7 August in the US.

Limited-Edition A and B versions also include a video disc containing the music video of ‘Stay Gold’ and its ‘making of’ footage, plus other music videos. Limited-Edition C and D versions include a 56-page photo booklet featuring an array of new and unseen conceptual photos of BTS.

Map Of The Soul: 7 ~ The Journey ~ is out on 14 July and can be pre-ordered here.
