K-pop sensations BTS return with the release of their album Map of the Soul: Persona, including their new single ‘Boy With Luv’, featuring Halsey.

The global popstars have been teasing the latest collaboration all week, racking up over 27 million Youtube videos on the teaser alone before premiering the video this Friday.

The results is a Technicolor fever dream that takes its cues from old Hollywood musicals. The visual follows all seven members of BTS as they dance around old movie theatres, an oversized piano a la the movie Big, and 50s diners, joined by Halsey.

The infectious track is also paired with some of the most intricate choreography that only BTS can pull off. While Halsey doesn’t join the boys until the latter half of the video, the album version of the track features the chart-topping pop star more prominently. At this time, the video has already amassed over 41-million views and counting.

After the video dropped, Halsey shared her excitement over working with the K-pop superstars on Twitter writing, “This has been a historic opportunity and we’ve had a blast”.

‘Boy With Luv’ appears on the groups’ 7-track EP, Map of the Soul: Persona, that features a collaboration by another pop icon, Ed Sheeran, on ‘Make It Right’. ‘Map of The Soul’ follows the group’s Billboard 200 chart-topping albums Love Yourself: Tear and Love Yourself: Answer, both released last year.

The group is also slated to perform ‘Boy With Luv’ on Saturday Night Live tomorrow (13 April), and kick off a US stadium tour in May.

Like their female K-pop counterparts Blackpink, BTS experienced massive crossover success outside of their native South Korea and became the first K-pop group ever reach the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100 chart with their hit single, ‘Fake Love’.

Love Yourself: Speak Yourself World Tour heads to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena on 4 May.
