BTS To Release ‘Essential Edition’ Of Latest Album, ‘Be’
The newly-expanded edition of the K-pop stars Billboard chat-topping album is due out on February 19.
BTS are set to release an expanded edition of their recent album, Be. Be (Essential Edition) will be arriving February 19, the K-Pop superstars have announced.
According to the press release, the latest offering “encapsulates BTS’ deepest appreciation towards their fans who have stood by every milestone.” The album will feature eight tracks that were on the deluxe edition: “Life Goes On,” “Fly to My Room,” “Blue & Grey,” “Skit,” “Telepathy,” “Dis-Ease,” “Stay,” and their massive hit “Dynamite.” The announcement also reveals that Be (Essential Edition) will also feature some things that are different from the Deluxe version.
In addition, BTS will be unveiling “surprise gifts” for their fan army in the days leading up to the Essential Edition’s release, though no further information has been released about this as yet.
BTS received a Grammy nomination in November for best pop duo/group performance for “Dynamite,” their first English language single. The song debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in August, making BTS the first South Korean group to top the chart. “Dynamite” is also the first song to top both the Billboard Global Excl. U.S. and Billboard Global 200 charts simultaneously.
Be earned the group their fifth No. 1 on the Billboard 200 in late November. Earlier in the year, their release Map of the Soul: 7 debuted atop the March 7 chart. The album also came in as the No. 1 pick in the annual Billboard poll.
Fans voted in the Billboard poll, published earlier in December 2020, also choosing the K-pop boy band’s Map Of The Soul: 7 as their all-time favorite project to be released during the year with 30.66% of the vote. The group’s platinum-certified album launched their highest-charting solo Billboard Hot 100 top 10 hit at the time with “On” peaking at No. 4 on the all-genre tally back in March.
