‘Lights’ marks the global pop sensations’ first new Japanese song in four years that “conveys the message of hope that one can connect with the others through sounds and see each other’s lights whenever they close their eyes,” they shared in a statement. The group will also be releasing an accompanying video for the new track.

All three singles will be available digitally on 3 July, followed by the physical products on 5 July in the US as a CD/DVD release. There will be three different limited-edition configurations. Limited Edition A comes with a DVD containing the music videos of ‘Lights’ and ‘IDOL’ while the DVD on Limited Edition B features the making of both the music video of ‘Lights’ and jacket photos. Limited Edition C includes a 36-page photo booklet including exclusive photos of the group.

Recently BTS made history, as the first Korean artists to have three albums reach the top spot of the Billboard 200 chart, as well as the first to notch a No.1 album in the UK.

Along with their record-breaking chart performance, the group also became the first Korean group to perform on Saturday Night Live last month.

After releasing their hit single ‘Boy With Luv’, featuring Halsey, the song shot to the No.8 spot on Billboard’s Hot 100 chart, and earned the distinction of most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours. The two artists then teamed up again for the live debut of ‘Boy With Luv’ at the Billboard Music Awards, where BTS won the Top Duo/Group and Top Social Artist.

Being one of the few K-pop groups to make major inroads in America and the rest of the world, BTS are enjoying their groundswell of popularity while currently on their ‘BTS World Tour ‘Love Yourself: Speak Yourself’ that consists of 16 shows in eight cities around the globe, including two Wembley Stadium shows in June.
