London’s BST Hyde Park Postponed Until 2022
Pearl Jam, Duran Duran, and the Pixies are among next year’s confirmed headliners.
Organizers for BST Hyde Park have announced that the London festival will not take place in July, as planned, amid the ongoing pandemic. In the same statement, however, it was confirmed that headliners Pearl Jam and Duran Duran are still set to perform during next year’s festivities, which are rescheduled for July 8 – 10, 2022.
Pearl Jam will take the stage on both Friday and Saturday evenings, with the Pixies joining them on the first night. Duran Duran, who is set to headline Sunday evening, will be joined by Nile Rodgers & CHIC.

According to BST Hyde Park’s website, all tickets remain valid for the newly rescheduled 2022 dates, however, all ticket holders will be contacted with refund information if they are no longer able to attend.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce that BST Hyde Park will not take place in July 2021,” said organizers in an official statement. “Following our review of the most recent government advice, the latest timeline means that we are unable to deliver with certainty the quality BST Hyde Park is known for in the time available. By making this decision at this stage we allow artists, crew, fans, and everyone that comes together to help create these shows to plan accordingly.”
They added, “We’d like to take this opportunity to thank the NHS and all the incredible organizations and individuals who have been working tirelessly in these past twelve months to keep the country safe. Your efforts are enormously appreciated.”
This marks the second summer in a row that the popular event has been canceled as the coronavirus continues to surge. Fans of Duran Duran were particularly excited to catch the band’s first show in six years, which was scheduled to include an appearance from Grace Jones in addition to Rogers. Pearl Jam’s appearance, meanwhile, was touted to be their biggest London show ever.
This summer’s events were scheduled to take place across two weekends, with a variety of free activities in between, including open-air movie nights, live sports showings, street food, pop-up bars, and a children’s theater.
